Our History
Bonnie Jean was founded in 1935 by Bonnie Wagy in her home in Ohio. As a seamstress and mother of two young girls, Bonnie saw a need for adorable yet durable dresses and clothes for little ones. She began designing and sewing her own patterns and selling them locally.
Word spread quickly about the charming Bonnie Jean dresses and matching sibling sets. By the late 1930s, Bonnie was overwhelmed with orders and opened a small manufacturing facility to meet demand. Her husband Glenn joined the business full-time in 1940, and it became a true family company.
Over the next few decades, Bonnie Jean continued to grow as a leading name in children’s apparel. We opened our first retail store in the 1960s and launched our popular Bonnie Baby line for infants and toddlers in the 1970s.
Today, three generations later, we remain committed to Bonnie’s vision of high-quality, affordable clothing for little ones. We still design all our own patterns in-house and manufacture the majority of our dresses and sets in the USA.

We are proud to manufacture the majority of our products in our Ohio-based factory. Our dedicated sewing team has generations of experience stitching Bonnie Jean designs.

Size Range
We offer a wide size range from newborn through size 16/18 so we can clothe babies, toddlers, big kids, and tweens. Our size chart provides detailed measurements so you can select the perfect fit.

Our family has been perfecting children’s clothing patterns and construction for over 80 years. We bring generations of sewing expertise to every seam.
Most products are stitched to order in our Ohio-based factory. Our talented seamstresses take great pride in their work. The majority have been with us for decades and feel like family.
